Okay, to make things more interesting, I’ve decided to do a stupid little competition. The prize? A genuine Eiffel Tower miniature which I bought from the top of the tower itself! You will receive it as soon as I arrive back in Sydney.
So what do you have to do? Just name me the monuments shown, as seen from Eiffel Tower. So post your comment, just state the photo and the monuments (ie. Photo 1 – Monument 1).
Hints: Centre du Pompidou, Basilica Sacre-Coeur, Invalides, La Defense Grande Arche.
A shopping paradise about 3 kilometres of designer goods, boutiques, car showrooms, lots and lots and lots of cafes packed with French pastries, cakes, ice cream, sorbets, coffee, to eat while you gossip. There’s also a high concentration of poodles.
The highlight of the day – Louis Vutton.

The Arc de Triomphe is in the middle of a roundabout with 12 LANES of traffic. It is also a node for 8 connecting major streets. I didn’t see any signal indicators blinking but oddly I didn’t hear horns and swearing as well. I wonder if the French do their ultimate driving test here.
I’ve been here before and was surprised at how brown it looks. I thought it was the winter sky but seeing it now again in summer proves it’s really that hue.
